Backflow Repair & Replacement
Done in One Trip.
When an assembly fails its test, it has to be fixed to get back into compliance. We repair on the spot when we can, replace with code-compliant units when we can’t, and re-test before we leave, so you’re done in a single visit.
Repairs, At a Glance
A failed test is a fix, not a crisis.
Backflow assemblies are mechanical devices, and the parts inside them wear out. Rubber seals harden, check-valve springs weaken, relief valves stick, and a hard Florida freeze can crack a body or a bonnet. When any of that happens, the assembly fails its annual test and the property falls out of compliance until it’s repaired.
Most failures are a rebuild, not a replacement. We carry manufacturer rebuild kits and common replacement assemblies on every truck, so in the majority of cases we diagnose the problem, fix it, and re-test the same visit, without a second trip or a second invoice.
When an assembly is too old, too corroded, or no longer up to code, we replace it with a code-compliant unit, re-test it, and re-file the certified result with your county so your record is clean again.
Most repairs are diagnosed, fixed, and re-tested in a single visit. No rescheduling, no second tenant disruption.
Rebuild kits and common replacement assemblies ride on every truck, so the fix usually happens on the spot.
Diagnosed, fixed, and re-filed.
From the failed test to a clean compliance record back with the county, here’s how a repair visit goes.
We Diagnose
We pinpoint exactly what failed, whether it’s a check valve, relief valve, worn seals, or freeze damage, and tell you whether it’s a repair or a replacement.
We Fix It
Rebuild kits and replacement units are on the truck. Most repairs happen on the spot; we quote any full replacement before doing the work.
We Re-test
Every repaired or replaced assembly is re-tested the same visit to confirm it passes, so you leave compliant, not waiting on a follow-up.
We Re-file
The new passing result goes back to your county utility through SwiftComply, BSI, or direct submission. Your compliance record is clean again.
The failures we see most.
Almost every failed test traces back to one of these. We carry the parts for all of them.
Failed Check Valves
The most common failure: worn or fouled check valves that no longer hold pressure. Usually a rebuild-kit fix on the spot.
Leaking Relief Valves
A relief valve that weeps or won’t seat will fail the test. We rebuild or replace the relief valve assembly and re-test.
Freeze & Crack Damage
A hard freeze can split a body, bonnet, or test cock. Cracked castings can’t be rebuilt, so we replace with a code-compliant unit.
Worn Seals & Springs
Hardened rubber and weak springs are normal wear. We swap them out with manufacturer kits to bring the assembly back to spec.
Corroded Assemblies
Old or hard-water-corroded bodies that can’t seal reliably get replaced with a current, compliant assembly sized to your line.
Tampered or Missing Parts
Stolen brass, missing test cocks, or tampered components are common on exposed assemblies. We restore or replace and re-certify.
One trip covers the whole fix.
On-the-spot diagnosis
We identify the exact failed component and tell you repair vs. replace before any work begins.
Manufacturer rebuild kits
Stocked on the truck for all major brands, so most repairs are completed the same visit.
Code-compliant replacements
When a unit can't be saved, we replace it with a current, properly sized, DEP-approved assembly.
Same-visit re-test
Every repair or replacement is re-tested before we leave. No second service call to confirm the pass.
County re-filing
We submit the new passing result to your utility so your compliance record is restored.
Upfront pricing
Repairs and replacements are quoted before the work. No surprise invoices after the fact.
One truck, one visit, one invoice.
Most testers who find a failure hand you a slip and tell you to call someone for the repair. Then you’re booking a second company, a second visit, and a second re-test before you’re compliant again.
Because we test and repair, the fix usually happens the moment we find the problem. Parts on the truck, re-test before we leave, result re-filed with the county. One relationship, start to finish.
The Fix, Handled
What people ask about repairs.
It needs to be repaired or replaced to get back into compliance. In most cases we can do it the same visit we find the failure. We carry rebuild kits and common replacement units on the truck, fix the problem, re-test, and re-file the passing result with your county.
Repair whenever we can. Most failures are worn seals, springs, or check valves that a rebuild kit fixes. We only replace when an assembly is cracked, corroded, or no longer up to code, and we’ll always tell you which it is and quote it before doing the work.
We stock rebuild kits and replacement assemblies for all the major manufacturers: Watts, Febco, Wilkins, Apollo, and others. In the rare case we don’t have your exact part on the truck, we’ll source it and schedule the fix quickly.
No. Re-testing the repaired or replaced assembly is part of the same visit. You leave compliant, with the passing result re-filed with your county. No separate trip and no second testing charge.
It depends on the assembly and what failed. A rebuild kit is far less than a full replacement. We diagnose the problem first and quote the work before we start, so there are no surprises on the invoice.
Let's get you compliant again.
Send us the failed assembly — or your whole property — and we’ll get out there, diagnose the failure, and quote the fix, usually within one business day.
